Set your table with this striking pitcher and bowl set from Staffordshire/Crownford's traditional Blue Calico collection. The unique floral design was derived from early Victorian patterns which had their roots in Chinese porcelain, representing the spring with fallen fruit tree blossoms onto cracked ice. The print is applied using the transferware process by which a tissue paper with the inked pattern is pressed onto the pottery and then fired to set the ink.

Both pieces have a backstamp that reads "Crownford China Inc. Co, Staffordshire, England, CALICO". The Crownford edition was the earliest Calico transferware collection produced. Crafted in England.

Pieces are in great condition free of chips and cracks. Pitcher holds 128 ounces.
