Coffee mug from Staffordshire/Crownford's traditional Blue Calico collection. The unique floral design was derived from early Victorian patterns which had their roots in Chinese porcelain, representing the spring with fallen fruit tree blossoms onto cracked ice. The print is applied using the transferware process by which a tissue paper with the inked pattern is pressed onto the pottery and then fired to set the ink.

No backstamp. Crafted in England.

Piece is in great condition free of chips and cracks.
